‘The CIO and CTO roles are fundamental to business success. We owe it to ourselves and business success to constantly re-invest in ourselves. Our job can be lonely, it can be tough and will have massive responsibility that no other executive position has to handle. Tech Leaders Connect was founded on the principles we founded Freeman Clarke on; to bring together a community of CIOs and CTOs, create a supportive environment in which people could learn from each other, lean on previous experience and work out how to be the best possible CIO or CTO. Our TLC community is aimed at helping CIOs and CTOs lean into the expectations that the CEO and exec team put on our shoulders and use the community for support, advice, ideas and knowledge. Every TLC event is grounded in that idea – built by CIOs and CTOs for CIOs and CTOs. That’s what makes this work.’
Steve Clarke, Co-founder & Director, Freeman Clarke
We’re a trusted, high quality, community where CIOs and CTOs can connect as peers, gain fresh strategic insight, and find support in the challenges of technology leadership. We’ll do this through intimate events, candid conversations, and shared experiences. We will make technology leadership less lonely – and more impactful.
Trust
We create spaces where CIOs and CTOs can speak openly, share challenges and learn from one another without fear of judgment or competition.
Insight
We believe the best ideas are sparked through conversation. Every event, dinner and forum is designed to exchange practical wisdom and fresh perspectives.
Generosity
Everyone contributes not just their time, but their experience – openly sharing what’s worked, what hasn’t and what’s next.
Connections
We foster relationships that go deeper than networking – ones that support, challenge and uplift fellow technology leaders.
Leadership
We recognize that leading technology is mostly about leading people. We support the human side of leadership, making the role less isolating and more fulfilling.
Quality, not Quantity
We prioritise high-impact interactions, curated conversations and carefully selected members of scale or show.
TLC is for employed CIOs and CTOs in the mid-market and above. You will probably have an IT budget of a £M or so and a team of ten or more with a variety of outsourced and service contracts. Technology may well be key to the future growth of your business.
You will be looking to learn, knowing that as yet you’re not the finished article and that spending time with your community is a great use of your time.
Your boss, the CEO, will be more than happy for you to spend time at TLC because they can see the value that it brings when you get back into the office.
‘Today's theme, Preparing For The Limelight, was a really good reminder that in IT we're not just a support action, but that we’re part of the business leadership group ... intimate event – you can easily ask and get questions answered.’
‘Lots of idea sharing ... and a lot of practical takeaways around how others are dealing with common issues ... I like the agenda – basically everything I’m dealing with day-to-day ... this is a key part of the CIO calendar.’
‘It's been great ... I love the format of the sessions ... people from different industry sectors – large and small organisations ... nice to have an audience you can get off stage and interact with – there’s a warmth to that ... some lovely feedback, good conversations, resonance and engagement.’
‘Very interesting conversations ... format has been superb … best keynotes I’ve heard in many, many years … really well structured … nothing’s felt rushed … nice to have [the day] broken up with insightful panel sessions and Q&As.’
Graeme Freeman and Steve Clarke founded Freeman Clarke when they realised just how many mid-market businesses needed Board-level technology leaders but only on a part-time, or fractional basis. Now, over a decade later, we are the largest and most experienced team of tech leaders. Our CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs advise hundreds of mid-market businesses, helping them grow with IT and technology.
Making connections... Our in-house events team has considerable experience curating conferences, summits, breakfast/lunch clubs, dinners, and webinars for our clients, partners, suppliers, and our own team of fractional CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs. We know how to bring business and tech leaders together to learn, create connections, and knowledge-share. The Summit is our outward-facing flagship event – a key date in any tech leader's diary. We look forward to connecting with you...
